Snow White’s Scary Adventures Getting Some Magical Upgrades
Snow White's Scary Adventures is one of the few attractions featured on opening day that is still operating in today. he Fantasyland staple retells the famed story of Snow White and her frightening tale with the Seven Dwarfs and the Evil Queen who tricks her into eating a poisoned apple. Starting next year, however, this attraction will have some new magic to experience. Disney Parks Blog revealed earlier this week that in January 2020, Disneyland Park's only ride-through Princess attraction will close and undergo some refurbishments, including newly enhanced story details, as well as additional scenes. Specifically, a new scene at the end of the ride will see Snow White reunite with her animal friends, with a shimmering castle visible in the distance. This is in addition to a new scene that will feature the princess waking up from her deep sleep in a beautiful forest setting. Disney Imagineers are also adding state-of-the-art audio and visual technology throughout the attraction that will include new music, LED black lighting, laser projections and a new animation system. Meanwhile the exterior will also see an upgrade with new, fairy tale-inspired details to complement the nearby iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle.
This will mark the second time Snow White's Scary Adventures has received a major update. In 1983, when an entirely new Fantasyland was revealed, the attraction revealed an all new facade, which many of us are familiar with, as well as the current name. The attraction will close on January 6, 2020 and will open later int he year, in time to celebrate 65 years in Disneyland!
