Oogie Boogie Bash - What You Need to Know

If you're like me, then Halloween at Disneyland is one of your favorite times of the year to visit the parks. Both Disneyland and California Adventure are decked out in some pretty incredible decorations and theming. Not to mention, your favorite characters have donned their Halloween costumes and the dubious villains are out in full force! This year, however, there's some changes for the season, as Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland is no longer and many of the festivities have found their way over to California Adventure, where you'll find the brand new spectacular, Oogie Boogie Bash! Here's everything you need to know about this brand new experience. As with the previous Halloween Party, Oogie Boogie Bash is a ticketed event, which you can pre-purchase via their website. There's limited availability in regards to dates and tickets, so it's best to get those early if you haven't already done so. The dates will start on September 6th and run through October 31st. The event will officially start at 6:00 PM, where they'll ask everyone who doesn't have a pass to exit the park, but you will have access to the park starting at 3:00 PM. The ticket will get you access to a slew of new exclusive events and activities and they've taken full advantage of hosting the event in a new park and using areas that may surprise you.

First off, over at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, you'll find a very unique attraction, where the trail will be transformed into an ethereal, dreamlike environment, featuring some familiar, villainous faces. "This new experience unfolds in a series of scenes, each creating a hauntingly beautiful dream-space of color, sound, light and shadows, as stories emerge from the darkest night to create an enchanting world." The Treat Trails will return, but with a fantastical twist! Enjoy your trick-or-treating in fully immersive trail experiences that will feature some iconic characters like the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” and even the man of the hour, Oogie Boogie himself! You'll also find more traditional treat trails that will include over-sized cauldrons filled with yummy treats for the entire family.

Over in the Hollywood Land, you'll find the DescenDance, a pulsing party inspired by the hit Disney Channel franchise, The Descendants. "As the DescenDance begins, a spell is cast, summoning the greatest dance crew from the Isle of the Lost to throw down and lead everyone in moves that are set to the biggest hit songs from the 'Descendants' movies."

For fans of the Frightfully Fun Parade, you'll be happy to hear the attraction will be moving to California Adventure! Once again, the Headless Horseman will kick off the parade, followed by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, who will lead the way for many different characters and villains, stirring up some spooks along the way. There is also a brand new interactive stage show called Mickey's Trick and Treat Show. This new feature will be perfect for the younger crowd and will see Mickey and pals invite kids to the stage for a one-of-a-kind Halloween party! You'll see dancing, not-so-scary tales and candy at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. Finally, and probably the most exciting, is the new World of Color show, Villainous! This new spectacular "weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl named Shelley Marie. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey, exploring the villainous side of Disney characters through fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects. “Villainous!” shows that, deep down, there’s a little villain in all of us."

As you can see, there's so much to get excited about at the new Oogie Boogie Bash! Let's not forget all the characters who will be out and about, ready to wreak some havoc, along with all the delicious treats you'll only be able to find during the Halloween season at both parks. Don't forget, the Halloween Screams Fireworks show will occur on select nights in the Disneyland Park. This is an amazing show, featuring “Master of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog Zero—spirits from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. They'll guide you through a experience filled with sights and sounds that will include the likes of Maleficent and Ursula. Tickets are on sale now and if you ask this guy, they're well wroth the money! Happy scares! Source: Disneyland Blog
